Kattumannarkoil is a Reserved (SC) constituency in Cuddalore district. It has been a key battleground for the VCK and AIADMK. In the 2021 Assembly elections, VCK’s Sinthanai Selvan won the seat with 86,056 votes, defeating AIADMK’s N. Murugumaran, who secured 75,491 votes. The margin of victory was 10,565 votes. In the 2016 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s N. Murugumaran won the seat with 48,450 votes, defeating VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, who received 48,363 votes. The victory was decided by a razor-thin margin of just 87 votes. In the 2011 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s N. Murugumaran won the seat with 83,665 votes, defeating VCK’s D. Ravikumar, who secured 51,940 votes. The margin of victory was 31,725 votes.
