During an interview with Moneycontrol, the actress revealed the reason behind taking a break. While working as a kid in comedy circus, doing night shifts, performing 12 pages of scripts in one take had become stressful. She said, "I gave an audition for Chote Miya and after that, I started working. But then I had to take a break because it was very stressful for me. Being a kid in a comedy circus, doing night shifts or performing 12 pages of scripts in one take, I was doing it till I was enjoying it. But then I had to bring that perfection in me. I had to watch the judges and see their reactions. It was very stressful. I used to look for reasons when I used to go on set. What should I say today? Should I not perform today..." Saloni revealed that she lost around 22kgs with her dedication in lockdown. She shared, "This is the first time I am sharing my weight-loss story. When lockdown had started, I would eat so much ghar pe. Mom would cook momos, butter chicken, cakes and things like that. One day I was sitting in front of my laptop, watching shows. And suddenly, the screen locked and I saw my face on the laptop. And I look very chubby. I was 80kgs or something at that time. So I was like this is the point when I have to lose weight for myself. I just wanted to lose weight to be fit and healthy. I followed a diet and worked out every day. Now I am 58. The lockdown has made me lose weight. I would like to thank the lockdown because I couldn’t go out and eat junk food." (Photo: Instagram)

In an old conversation with Times of India TV, Saloni shared how she was trolled for being fat. She said, "I would get comments like ‘Bhains lag rahi hai’, ‘kitni moti hai’, ‘kitna khayegi, ekdin foot jayegi’ and things like that. But mujhe bahut maza aate hai yeh sab padh k (I enjoy reading them a lot). I read them with my friends and kept laughing. People who write such comments are afraid enough to not show their faces but they can write such things for so many people. Sometimes I do feel low, but I move on quickly. I work towards better things in life and do not think about such people. Now I have lost 22kgs, during the lockdown." (Photo: Instagram)
