Vandavasi (SC) Assembly constituency is located in Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests mainly between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), with the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) also playing a role in recent elections.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, DMK candidate S. Ambethkumar won the seat by securing 1,02,064 votes. He defeated PMK candidate S. Murali Shankar, who secured 66,111 votes. The margin of victory was 35,953 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, Vandavasi constituency had a total of 2,22,453 electors, of which 1,81,476 valid votes were polled. DMK candidate S. Ambethkumar won the seat with 80,206 votes, defeating AIADMK candidate V. Meganathan, who secured 62,138 votes. The margin of victory was 18,068 votes.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,99,026 electors and recorded 1,62,399 valid votes. AIADMK candidate V. Gunaseelan won the seat with 84,529 votes, defeating DMK candidate J. Kamalakkannan, who secured 72,233 votes. The margin of victory was 12,296 votes.
