Erode (East) Assembly constituency is located in Erode district of Tamil Nadu and forms part of the Erode Lok Sabha constituency. AIADMK candidate K S Thennarasu secured victory with 64,879 votes, defeating DMK candidate V C Chandhirakumar, who received 57,085 votes. Earlier, in the 2011 Assembly elections, Erode (East) had 1,75,395 electors, with 1,36,071 valid votes recorded. Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate V C Chandhirakumar won the seat with 69,166 votes, defeating DMK candidate S Muthusamy, who secured 58,522 votes. The winning margin of 10,644 votes reflected the influence of regional parties during that election cycle.
