Vaniyambadi Assembly constituency is located in the state of Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests mainly among the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
In the 2021 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s G. Sendhil Kumar won the seat by securing 88,018 votes. He defeated Indian Union Muslim League’s N. Mohammad Nayeem, who secured 83,114 votes. The margin of victory stood at 4,904 votes.
Earlier, in the 2016 Assembly elections, Vaniyambadi had a total of 2,23,458 electors, of which 1,72,638 valid votes were polled. AIADMK’s Nilofer won the seat with 69,588 votes, defeating IUML’s Syed Farooq, who secured 55,062 votes. The margin of victory was 14,526 votes.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,87,055 electors and recorded 1,47,405 valid votes. AIADMK’s Sampath Kumar Govi won the seat with 80,563 votes, defeating DMK’s H. Abdul Basith, who secured 62,338 votes. The margin of victory stood at 18,225 votes.
