Pennagaram Assembly constituency is located in the state of Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests among parties such as the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Communist Party of India (CPI).
In the 2021 Assembly elections, PMK’s G. K. Mani won the seat by securing 1,06,123 votes. He defeated DMK’s P. N. P. Inbasekaran, who secured 84,937 votes. The margin of victory stood at 21,186 votes.
Earlier, in the 2016 Assembly elections, Pennagaram had a total of 2,26,746 electors, of which 1,99,635 valid votes were polled. DMK’s P. N. P. Inbasekaran won the seat with 76,848 votes, defeating PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss, who secured 58,402 votes. The margin of victory was 18,446 votes.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,95,492 electors and recorded 1,62,288 valid votes. Communist Party of India’s N. Nanjappan won the seat with 80,028 votes, defeating DMK’s P. N. P. Inbasekaran, who secured 68,485 votes. The margin of victory stood at 11,543 votes.
