Thalli Assembly constituency is located in the state of Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests among parties such as the Communist Party of India (CPI), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the 2021 Assembly elections, CPI’s T. Ramachandran won the seat by securing 1,20,641 votes. He defeated BJP’s Dr. C. Nagesh Kumar, who secured 64,415 votes. The margin of victory stood at 56,226 votes.
Earlier, in the 2016 Assembly elections, Thalli had a total of 2,29,749 electors, of which 1,89,350 valid votes were polled. DMK’s Y. Prakaash won the seat with 74,429 votes, defeating CPI’s T. Ramachandran, who secured 68,184 votes. The margin of victory was 6,245 votes.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,84,376 electors and recorded 1,55,238 valid votes. CPI’s T. Ramachandran won the seat with 74,353 votes, defeating DMK’s Y. Prakaash, who secured 67,918 votes. The margin of victory stood at 6,435 votes.
