Sipajhar is an assembly constituency (No. 66) in Assam's Darrang district, part of the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency. This rural general category seat covers areas around Sipajhar town, known for its agrarian economy and central Assam location.
BJP's Paramananda Rajbongshi won in 2021 with 74,739 votes (50.33per cent share) and a margin of 7,134 over INC's Kuldip Barua (67,605 votes). BJP's Binanda Kumar Saikia (ex-INC) secured 2016 with 65,487 votes.
The constituency has a 2011 census population of 221,070 (100per cent rural), with 3.57per cent Scheduled Castes and 0.76per cent Scheduled Tribes. It features 182,761 electors across 251 polling stations, with voter turnout around 83.58per cent in 2021.
