Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Congress Sunday criticised the BJP-led Centre over the recent increase in domestic LPG cylinder prices, calling it a “cruel and unbearable blow” to common households.
In a statement, Chandigarh Congress president HS Lucky said the Rs 29 hike would further strain families already grappling with rising expenses. “The increase in the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 29 is yet another cruel and unbearable blow to the common people of the country,” he said.
Targeting the Centre, Lucky alleged that promises made during elections to control inflation and provide relief within 100 days had not been fulfilled. “The BJP govt, which made tall promises, is now determined to shatter the household budgets of millions of families,” he said.
He further claimed that under the current govt, inflation has effectively become a “permanent policy”, alleging that instead of offering relief, the govt continues to raise prices to increase revenues.
