A devastating fire swept through Thane's Gamdevi market complex early Thursday. The blaze claimed the lives of a fireman and a security guard. Two other fire personnel sustained injuries. The inferno destroyed numerous vegetable and clothing stalls. Firefighting efforts faced challenges due to combustible materials. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Ulhasnagar commuters will soon benefit from 30 new electric buses, expected by October, enhancing connectivity to Thane, Navi Mumbai, and other neighbouring towns. Discussions also secured Rs 100 crore for concrete roads and addressed critical administrative appointments and water supply improvements for the city. These developments promise significant civic and infrastructure upgrades.
