It is believed that every single day in the month of Magha is special for doing charity work. Magha Purnima, also known as Maghi Purnima, is the last and most important day of Magha month. On this day, people follow rituals like taking a holy bath, offering alms, donating cow and Homa at Prayag, the confluence point of the river Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.

The Prayagraj administration has set a traffic advisory for the Maha Kumbh's Maghi Purnima on February 12, converting the fair zone into a No Vehicle Zone starting February 11 to ensure safety and smooth movement. This comes after a recent stampede led to significant casualties. Authorities have intensified crowd management with designated parking areas and a city-wide vehicle ban.

Prayagraj authorities will enforce a No Vehicle Zone in the Mela area and the city from 11 February 2025 for the Maghi Purnima snan at the Mahakumbh. Only essential and emergency vehicles are permitted to ensure smooth movement for devotees. These restrictions stay until the dispersal of pilgrims on 12 February.

The sacred maghi purnima bath began at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj with millions participating. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath oversaw arrangements from Lucknow. Security measures were enhanced, and the city declared a no-vehicle zone to ensure smooth proceedings. The festival concludes on February 26, with over 45 crore pilgrims having participated so far.

Amid tight security arrangements and pleasant weather conditions, around 37 lakh devotees, saints and Kalpwasi, on Sunday, took a holy dip in the Sangam - the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati - on the occasion of Maghi Purnima, virtually the last bathing day of ongoing Magh Mela.

In view of the heavy rush of pilgrims during the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, railway administration has decided to stop sale of platform tickets to passengers on the main bathing days at the Allahabad station and Naini junction.

In view of the upcoming Magh Mela in Prayagraj, the district administration has directed the UP Pollution Control Board to close tanneries and factories situated on banks of Ganga in Jajmau.
