Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday extended his greetings to the people of the state, as well as to seers and devotees, on the occasion of Magh Purnima Snan, which will take place on Feb 12. He also conveyed his best wishes for the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Satguru Shri Ravidas Ji Maharaj, which will be celebrated on Wednesday.
In his message issued on Tuesday, the CM said that since the start of the Maha Kumbh on Jan 13, more than 45 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in Prayagraj. "Bathing, charity, and worship hold special significance on the auspicious occasion of Maghi Purnima. For devotees undertaking a month-long Kalpavas at the confluence site in Prayagraj, this date marks a special festival. The month-long Kalpavas concludes on Maghi Purnima," the CM said.
In another message, the CM elaborated on the thoughts and ideals of Ravidas, who was born in Varanasi. "Satguru Ravidas Ji raised awareness among people to eradicate social evils. He greatly emphasised equality and virtuous conduct. Through his saying ‘Man Changa to Kathauti Mein Ganga', he stressed internal purity and clarity. Satguru Ravidas Ji made remarkable use of folk language in his compositions, leaving an indelible impact on the public. His works are a priceless treasure of our literature," the CM said.
