Assembly Election Result 2025 Live: Left parties fail to make a mark in Delhi assembly elections: NOTA receives more votes
The Left parties, which united to contest six seats in the Delhi Assembly elections, failed to make any significant impact, securing fewer votes than the None of the Above (NOTA) option in all segments. Together, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (CPI), and CPI(ML) Liberation polled a combined total of just 2,158 votes, while NOTA attracted 5,627 votes.
In Karawal Nagar, a constituency severely impacted by the 2020 riots, CPI(M) candidate Ashok Agarwal, an RTI activist and lawyer, received only 457 votes, while NOTA garnered 709 votes. The BJP's Kapil Mishra won the seat with 1,07,367 votes.
Similarly, in Badarpur, CPI(M) candidate Jagdish Chand secured just 367 votes, while AAP’s Ram Singh Netaji, the winning candidate, earned 1,12,991 votes, with NOTA getting 915 votes.
In Vikaspuri, CPI's Shejo Varghese garnered 580 votes, while NOTA received 1,127 votes. BJP’s Pankaj Kumar Singh triumphed with 1,03,955 votes.
CPI’s Dilip Kumar in Palam received only 326 votes, while NOTA had 1,119 votes. BJP’s Kuldeep Solanki won with 82,046 votes.
CPI(ML) Liberation’s candidates in Narela and Kondli also faced similar setbacks, with NOTA consistently securing higher votes than the Left candidates.
