Bhopal: A 60-year-old woman died, and her husband sustained serious injuries after a speeding car allegedly rammed their motorcycle in Berasia area on Friday. Berasia police registered a case against the unidentified car driver.According to police, the elderly couple, Laxminarayan Sharma and his wife Savitri Bai Sharma, 60, residents of Chatahedi village under Berasia police station limits, were travelling on a motorcycle from Berasia to Chandi Saloi village at around 6 pm.As they reached near the Shamshabad bypass junction ahead of Imalia Swaroop village, a speeding car coming from the Narsinghgarh side allegedly hit their motorcycle head-on. The impact threw the couple onto the road, leaving both seriously injured.A passerby, Vikram Singh Gurjar, rushed the injured couple to Berasia Hospital in his car and informed their son, Umesh Sharma, about the accident.By the time Umesh reached the hospital, his father was undergoing treatment while his mother succumbed to her injuries during treatment, police said.After receiving information, police reached the hospital and sent the woman’s body for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered against the car driver on the complaint of the victim’s son.Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused driver. The condition of the injured husband is reported to be stable and he is undergoing treatment.
