Bhopal: A clash broke out late Thursday night in Chhatarpur after three
youths allegedly riding a motorcycle recklessly hit a scooter carrying a
family.
The injured were identified as Yogendra Kumar Shrivas (25), his wife Komal
Shrivas and their three-year-old daughter Anvi. The family later alleged
that during the violence, attackers snatched the crying child from Komal’s
arms and threw her onto the road, injuring her.
Police said the incident began near the Vindhyavasini Temple police outpost
when Yogendra objected to reckless driving and removed the motorcycle key
after the collision. This allegedly triggered an argument.
The accused allegedly returned with several youths armed with sticks and
attacked the couple. Their scooter was also vandalised.
The violence later turned into stone-pelting between two groups in the
Toriya locality. Police teams that reached the spot were also attacked and
vehicles damaged. Kotwali police registered two FIRs, including one for
assault and another for obstructing official duty. Cases have been filed
against Zulfi, Chhotu, Sahil, Neeshu, Chhotu Khan, Bhura and two
unidentified persons. The accused are absconding.
