Health dept on alert amid onset of Nautapa, holds camp
Varanasi: In view of the onset of Nautapa and the continuously rising temperature, the health department organised a special health camp under the joint aegis of Ramna health centre and AYUSH department. A large number of villagers participated in the camp and availed themselves of health check-ups, medical consultations, and free medicines.Around 250 villagers underwent blood pressure, blood sugar, and general health examinations in the camp. Medicines were distributed free of cost as per medical requirements.Government medical officer Dr Shivshakti Prasad Dwivedi sensitised villagers about protection from heat waves, the importance of adequate water intake, regular consumption of ORS solution, avoiding excessive exposure to sunlight, and taking special care of children and elderly people. He emphasized that adopting proper health precautions during the Nautapa period is essential to prevent heat stroke and dehydration.Ayush department also provided important information regarding traditional and natural remedies for relief from extreme heat and overall health protection. People were further made aware of the importance of consuming clean drinking water and maintaining a balanced diet.
