Nagpur: A 43-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his younger brother to death over a dispute involving just Rs5,000 rupees in Hiwari Nagar's Bhim Chowk area late on Sunday night.
As per police, the accused Bhagwan Babule suspected that his brother, Pradeep Babule (39), had stolen Rs5,000. When Pradeep refuted the allegation, the brothers had an argument that soon turned violent, said police.
Bhagwan allegedly picked up an iron rod, known as a ‘Tommy bar' used for changing vehicle tyres, and repeatedly struck Pradeep on his head. Pradeep died on the spot, said police.
A team from Nandanvan police station rushed to the scene, registered a case of murder and arrested Bhagwan from the spot. The body was sent for autopsy.
