Nagpur: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Nagpur on Saturday. The fatal accidents, caused by speeding vehicles, again exposed the growing menace of reckless driving.
In the first accident, a cement mixer vehicle allegedly rammed into a motorcycle around 7pm near a tea stall in Yashodhara Nagar police station limits. Ajay Gajjam (32) was driving the motorcycle with his son Manav (16) riding pillion when they were hit by a truck.
After the dash, the motorcycle collided with the road divider. The two were rushed to Mayo Hospital where Ajay succumbed to his injuries. Manav is undergoing treatment at the hospital. A case has been registered against the driver of the truck under Sections 281, 106(1), 125(b) BNS and Sections 134, 184 of the MV Act.
In the second accident, a 21-year-old delivery agent working for an online platform was killed at around 9.30pm within Pratapnagar police station limits.
Yuvraj Alone (23) of Ballarshah, driving a motorcycle at high speed, hit the two-wheeler of Aditya Meshram from behind. Meshram was seriously injured along with pillion rider Mayur Vadhai (22). Later, Meshram was declared dead at Orange City Hospital. A case has been registered against Yuvraj under relevant sections.
