Two killed as car overturns in Kalwakurthy

Hyderabad: Two people were killed and another seriously injured when the car they were travelling in lost control and overturned near near Tandra of Kalwakurthy mandal n Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Bandapalli Balu (29) and Bandapalli Praveen (27), both residents of Vangoor mandal headquarters.According to police officials, the accident occurred when the car, travelling from Kalwakurthy towards Vangoor, attempted to overtake another car moving ahead of it. During the manoeuvre, the car reportedly collided with the vehicle and veered out of control before overturning on the Raichur-Kodad National Highway.Both Balu and Praveen died on the spot due to severe injuries they sustained in the crash. The driver, Raju, sustained serious injuries and was initially shifted to the Kalwakurthy govt hospital for treatment. Doctors later referred him to a hospital in Hyderabad for advanced medical care owing to the severity of his condition.Upon receiving information, Kalwakurthy sub-inspector Kurumurthy and his team rushed to the spot, inspected the scene and gathered details about the crash. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Kalwakurthy Government Hospital for postmortem. Police registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
