Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) uncovered alleged violations at a skincare facility in Banjara Hills during a surprise inspection across several dermatology clinics in Hyderabad.
During an inspection at V Care Clinic on Road No. 1, officials found that skin-related treatments were allegedly being administered by three dental practitioners and two homoeopathy doctors, despite such procedures requiring qualified allopathic medical specialists. Taking note of the violations, the TGMC decided to register cases against the five practitioners under Sections 34 and 54 of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act.
The TGMC has also initiated action against doctors registered with the clinic who are suspected of facilitating or overlooking the alleged unethical practices. Following an inquiry, disciplinary action, including suspension from medical practice under medical ethics regulations, may be considered.
In addition, the TGMC has recommended that the Hyderabad district collector and the district medical and health officer (DMHO) immediately seize the clinic and initiate legal proceedings against its management for permitting unauthorised medical practice.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of TGMC vice-chairman Dr Kiran Kumar Thotawar, TGMC member Dr Vishnu Kadali, and HRDA member Dr Jalagam Vijaya.
