Koridang bypoll: Counting of votes from 8am today

Dimapur: Counting of votes for the by-election to the Koridang assembly constituency will take place at the training hall in Mokokchung DC office complex from 8am on Monday.Polling for the bypoll was held with a high voter turnout of 82.21% on April 9. The bypoll was necessitated following the death of sitting MLA Imkong L Imchen.There are 30 polling stations in the constituency. Counting will be conducted in 10 EVM tables along with one returning officer table, sources said.A total of six candidates are in the fray for the seat. They are BJP’s Daochier I Imchen, Congress’s Chalukumba Ao, National People’s Party’s I Abenjang and three Independent candidates Major (rtd) Toshikaba, Imtiwapang Kichu and Imchatoba Imchen.
