Bhopal: A court in Datia district has ordered registration of an FIR against former SHO of Sinawal police station and three other police personnel over allegations of forcibly entering a house, assaulting family members, including women and a minor, and causing injuries during an alleged illegal raid in March 2024.
Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vijitashva Pushkar, acting on an application filed by complainant Yuvraj Singh Bundela, directed Kotwali police in Datia to register an FIR against then SHO Arvind Bhadouria, head constable Pushpraj Jauharia, constable
Kapil Sharma and woman constable Pooja Sikarwar under various sections. The court also ordered a fair and impartial probe and submission of the final report without undue delay.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on March 27, 2024, when the police personnel allegedly entered Bundela’s rented residence in Datia without a search warrant or written authorisation, assaulted him and his family members, and confiscated mobile phones. The complainant alleged that his mother was struck with a lathi, while he was beaten and later implicated in a false case.
In its order, the court observed that allegations of forcibly entering a private residence without lawful authority and assaulting women and a minor child could not be treated as acts performed in discharge of official duty. It held that prior prosecution sanction was not required in the case.
The matter has been listed for receipt of the FIR copy on June 16.
