BENGALURU: Here's a quicker lesson for quick-commerce gurus. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), which governs more than 200 engineering colleges in Karnataka, created history on Friday by announcing final-semester engineering exam results in just 10 minutes after the exam ended.A total of 56,192 students appeared for BE and BTech final-semester exams. The exam ended at 5.30pm Friday. Results were announced by 5.40pm. Results were directly fed into students' mobiles. All in a blink. Registrar (Evaluation) UJ Ujwal added: "We adopted digital evaluation of answer scripts. We had made enough preparations to announce results quickly. With everyone's cooperation, this was made possible."
VTU exam
Over the years, VTU has been improving its results-delivery time from two days in 2023 to three hours in 2024 and now in 10 minutes.VTU usually completes theory exams first and holds practical exams towards the end of the schedule. The theory exams were over on May 19. Evaluation was completed and results were kept ready. On Friday, the last paper was a practical exam — on internship. The paper had internal and external examiners, who together calculated the marks and uploaded them on to the server.
The theory and practical marks were immediately combined and results released.The pass percentage was 99.98. VTU vice-chancellor S Vidyashankar said: "We've been at the forefront of adopting technology. This result is proof that VTU is student-friendly. Final-year students eagerly await results for jobs and higher education. We ensured a quick announcement of results.."The entire evaluation process was completed eight days earlier, breaking previous records. Earlier, results were announced within one hour of exam completion. This time, results were directly sent to students' mobile numbers. Students can access the result on https://results.vtu.ac.in.
