Vadodara: The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Sunday filed a case under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) against 12 members of the Lalu Sindhi gang.
According to police, the gang members have committed more than 106 offences across various parts of the state. Gang leader Lalchand Khanani, alias Lalu Sindhi, is said to have 37 cases against him and has been booked under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) six times.
Of the accused, one has been arrested, four are already in jail, while the remaining members are still at large.
Police said the gang had been running an organized crime syndicate in the city for the past 10 years. It was allegedly involved in offences such as murder, extortion, dacoity, attacks on govt servants, Prohibition Act violations and Arms Act cases.
