TVK to float helpline for Trichy East to resolve grievances
Trichy: TVK would float a 24X7 toll-free helpline for Trichy East constituency residents to report their civic grievances, party general secretary (election campaign management), Aadhav Arjuna, said on Monday. Reviewing the election work where TVK leader actor Vijay is contesting, Arjuna claimed that Vijay will transform Trichy East into a model constituency. The helpline can be used by residents to report any grievances. TVK said that Vijay will be updated about the complaints. Addressing TVK functionaries and booth-level workers in the party's election office near Palpannai, Arjuna said that constituency-specific promises printed as brochures and party's flags as stickers will be handed over to party workers to engage in door-to-door campaigns across all houses of Trichy East. "Set aside the differences between us, we only have eight days. Meet every family at their doorsteps, canvass for our leader (Vijay). Our first objective is to split DMK votes. Don't even talk about AIADMK, ignore them," Arjuna said. Stating that BJP has sidelined their former state president K Annamalai despite his good work for the party's growth, the TVK general secretary said that AIADMK and BJP are not a major threat to the party.
Appointing three workers for every booth, Arjuna said that three members each for 304 booths in Trichy East should mobilise 10 party workers under them to campaign for Vijay. "Our leader chose Perambur as it has more thatched huts and high drug abuse; he wanted to change that. Trichy was also selected since it is in the centre of the state," Arjuna said.
