Security Guard Killed in SUV Accident in Deoghar

Dumka: A 30-year-old man, who was working as a security guard at AIIMS Deoghar, was killed after being hit by a speeding SUV in Deoghar district late on Friday. The deceased Rupesh Kumar Rai was returning home after finishing work when he was hit at Sirsia village under Devipur police station limits.Rai, who collapsed on the spot, was taken to AIIMS Deoghar where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. Villagers alleged that the driver of the SUV was driving recklessly under the influence of alcohol. “The body was handed over to the family after postmortem examination. The vehicle has been seized and driver is currently under detention. Further probe is underway," Prashant Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Devipur police station, said.
