Over 51% clear Intermediate compartmental exams in Bihar
Patna: State education minister Mithilesh Tiwari on Saturday announced the results of the Intermediate and Matriculation special and compartmental examinations 2026 conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). Board chairman Anand Kishor was also present during the announcement.The Intermediate compartmental examination recorded an overall pass percentage of 51.38%, while 21.16% candidates cleared the Matriculation Compartmental Examination.In the special examinations, 55.31% students passed the Intermediate examination and 57.18% cleared the Matriculation examination.A total of 6,498 students appeared in the Intermediate special examination, of whom 3,711 were declared successful. Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 59.29%, compared to 52.65% among boys.In the Intermediate compartmental examination, 63,506 students appeared and 32,627 passed. Girls again recorded a better performance with a pass percentage of 53.48%, while boys secured 49.17%. The examination was conducted at 120 centres across the state from May 2 to May 11.For the Matriculation special examination, 6,034 students appeared and 3,450 passed.
In the Matriculation compartmental examination, 62,506 students appeared, out of which 13,227 cleared the test.The Matriculation examinations were conducted at 159 centres across Bihar from May 2 to May 6 in two shifts daily.The BSEB conducts special and compartmental examinations to provide students who failed in one or two subjects, or missed the main examinations due to valid reasons, another opportunity to complete the academic year.
