Indore: Cricket fans will have to pay more to watch matches of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh League at Holkar Stadium this season, with organisers introducing tickets for spectators in two categories priced at Rs 100 and Rs 300.
The tickets will be made available online through a dedicated ticketing platform finalised by the league management and are expected to go live within the next two to three days.
League organisers are expecting a stronger turnout this year due to the presence of several IPL and domestic cricket stars, along with the expanded schedule of the tournament. Last season, spectators were charged Rs 50 for entry, but ticket prices have been increased this year with the scale of the event also growing significantly.
The upcoming edition of the MPL will begin on June 3 and continue till the finals on June 26, making it the biggest season since the tournament’s launch in 2024. A total of 48 matches have been scheduled this year, nearly double the number held during the previous edition in Gwalior. Most fixtures will be hosted at Holkar Stadium, while 10 matches have also been allotted to Daly College Cricket Ground to manage the packed schedule.
The opening match will feature Rajat Patidar-led Gwalior Cheetahs taking on Ashutosh Sharma’s Ujjain Falcons at Holkar Stadium from 7:30 pm onwards. Several IPL-linked players including Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen are also expected to feature during the tournament.
No tickets or public entry will be allowed for matches scheduled at Daly College Cricket Ground. Sources associated with the MPL said the venue currently lacks proper spectator arrangements, including seating, drinking water and other facilities required for public viewing. As a result, only Holkar Stadium matches will remain open for fans this season.
