500 kg ghee seized, 29 samples sent for lab tests

Indore: Five hundred kg of suspected adulterated ghee was seized after food and drug administration officials conducted intensive raids in various parts of the city on Tuesday.The action was taken at Shri Dhenu Dairy Products in Palda Marble Mandi. During the inspection, officials found 34 large containers of ghee whose quality or source could not be verified. The team seized approximately 500 kg of ghee valued at Rs 3 lakh.FDA teams inspected establishments in Rau, Limbodi, and Bhawarkua, checking high-consumption items like milk, paneer, and mawa. Twenty-nine samples were collected from different establishments and sent to state food testing laboratory in Bhopal. "Public health is our absolute priority. Establishments failing to meet safety standards will face rigorous legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006," an FDA official said.
