Travis Kelce is officially back with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Brittany Mahomes did not overthink her reaction. She saw the post, hit the comments, and wrote two words that said everything.
The Chiefs announced Kelce’s new three-year deal, reported around $54.7 million, and shared a team video where he spoke directly to fans. Kelce looked locked in. Brittany looked hyped. The internet, obviously, noticed.
Brittany Mahomes keeps it short while Travis Kelce tells Chiefs fans ‘it’s official’
The Chiefs posted Kelce’s message on Instagram as he talked up the 2026 season and Arrowhead.
“Chiefs Kingdom, let’s go, baby! It’s official,” Kelce said. “I’m excited for 2026 and just excited to put on the Chiefs uniform in front of you guys again. Let’s get Arrowhead rocking, baby. We’ll see you guys in a few months.”
Brittany Mahomes jumped into the comments and wrote: “LETS GOOO,” a two-word reaction that fit the moment and quickly became the headline takeaway from her side.
Kelce is now set to enter his 14th season in Kansas City after being selected as a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played all 17 games last season and finished with 851 receiving yards, per the provided figures.
Ari Meirov says Travis Kelce’s ‘3-year’ deal is built like a one-year move, and that changes the read
Here is where things get interesting. The contract number looks huge on first glance. But NFL insider Ari Meirov explained on X that the structure does not necessarily match the headline.
“The Chiefs’ new contract with TE Travis Kelce is structured as a 1-year, $12M deal with another $3M in incentives, with additional years included for cap purposes,” Meirov wrote.
He added: “If Kelce wants to continue playing after this season, the deal will be renegotiated next year. As currently structured, it’s set up for this to be his final season, after which he would retire, allowing the cap hits to be spread out over those added years.”
Meirov followed up with more context on why the total value can mislead if you read it like guaranteed money.
“For context and clarity, Travis Kelce’s contract with the Chiefs includes a trigger date next June that exists strictly for cap purposes,” Meirov wrote. “He does not actually have another two years and $40M+ coming to him after this season.”
That framing matters. It turns the deal into a “right now” commitment, not a locked-in three-year promise. If this is built to keep the Chiefs flexible, it also keeps Kelce’s future flexible. One season at a time. Decisions later.
And yes, the vibes are still loud. In another Chiefs video shared from Arrowhead Stadium, Kelce walked past a photo of his fiancée, Taylor Swift, and fans latched onto the moment. The clip shows him wave and mouth: “Hi sweetie,” as he passed the image.
