Maha tourist drowns at Sinquerim beach

Calangute: A 55-year-old tourist from Solapur, Maharashtra, drowned off Sinquerim beach on Sunday.Drishti Marine lifesavers said the deceased was observed struggling in the water after being caught in a strong rip current.The individual was found unresponsive when brought back to the shore. The team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), while another lifesaver deployed an automated external defibrillator (AED).The unresponsive individual was taken to the Candolim Primary Health Centre (PHC) where he was later declared dead by the medical officials. Calangute police have registered a case of unnatural death.
