Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday met jailed Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora at Bhondsi district jail in Gurgaon, where he is lodged in connection with an alleged Rs 100-crore fake GST billing and money laundering case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Mann and Kejriwal reached the high-security jail around 2pm from Delhi and met Arora for nearly 20 minutes, party sources said.
While the party leadership did not issue any formal statement after the meeting, sources said the visit was aimed at reviewing Arora's legal situation and signalling the party's support for the minister.
The ED arrested Arora in Chandigarh on May 9. A special PMLA court later sent him to judicial custody till June 1.
Earlier, Mann had dismissed the allegations against Arora and termed the ED action politically motivated. He alleged the BJP-led Centre was using central agencies to target AAP leaders in Punjab ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
