CM calls for public participation in Census-2027

Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu urged people of Himachal Pradesh to actively participate in the Census-2027 exercise, describing it as the "backbone of democracy and development".During a meeting in Shimla, director census operations-cum-citizen registration, Deep Shikha Sharma, briefed the CM about various aspects of the upcoming census process. She said the Census would be conducted in two phases: house listing and housing census, followed by population enumeration. The first phase will be carried out from June 16 to July 15. A new "self enumeration" facility has also been introduced through the official portal from June 1 to June 15. The Census will be conducted digitally, with enumerators collecting information through mobile devices. Sukhu said census data is crucial for planning future development policies and welfare programmes.MSID:: 131311227 413 |
