Amrinder Warring criticises outsider’s appointment as PSERC chief
Chandigarh: Accusing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of acting like the British East India Company, Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday condemned the AAP govt's decision to appoint a rank outsider as the chairman of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). Reacting to the appointment of Sanjay Gupta, former Himachal Pradesh chief secretary, as the PSERC chairman, Warring noted that the AAP was "humiliating" the Punjabis by putting outsiders in the positions that are the rightful due of the Punjabis and Punjabis alone. "It is now an established and acknowledged fact that the AAP has outsourced the entire govt to Delhi, with people from the national capital manning all the departments. The latest appointment has further rubbed salt into the Punjabis' wounds," he said, asking why the AAP did not find anyone from Punjab to head the PSERC. He said earlier also the AAP govt appointed chairpersons to various boards and corporations from outside, particularly the Punjab Pollution Control Board and Punjab Real Estate Regulator Authority (RERA).
