Couple loses over Rs4.5cr in online stock fraud

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A couple from Garkheda area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar was allegedly duped of Rs4.5 crore in a stock market investment fraud.According to an officer from Pundalik Nagar police station, they were lured by conmen through fraudulent an online trading platform by promising attractive return on their investment.In her police complaint, the 45-year-old woman, who is a healthcare professional, said that through the fraudulent portal, the administrators and other unidentified individuals of WhatsApp group defrauded her of a sum amounting to Rs4.5 crore.Police said that the victim couple has also lodged a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Helpline and the investigation is on.
