Man held for obtaining two passports with forged documents

Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Friday arrested a man identified as Mohd Ayub (54) of Gowardhanpur on the charges of obtaining two passports with the help of forged documents.Investigations revealed that the accused had obtained two separate passports using different personal details and documents.The investigation uncovered discrepancies between the two passports regarding date of birth, place of birth, parents’ names, and residential details.Besides, available records indicated that the second passport was obtained through the alteration or manipulation of an Aadhaar card and other documents.Based on the findings and actions, the accused, prima facie was found involved in fraud, forgery, and a violation of the provisions of the Passport Act and following which a case was registered against him with Sangipur police station of Pratapgarh under Sections 319(2), 318(4), 336(2), and 340(3) of the BNS, and section 12(1)(B) of the Passport Act.
