Dance drama ‘Matang Kanya’ to be staged today

Prayagraj: Under the promotional scheme of the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), the dance drama ‘Matang Kanya’ will be staged by the Vinod Rastogi Smriti Sansthan and Nrityam, Prayagraj on Saturday. This dance drama is based on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s immortal and timeless work, ‘Chandalika’, which brings to life on stage the conflict between the caste discrimination prevalent in society. On the occasion, young artist Shashank Pandey will be honoured with ‘Alok Smriti Rang Samman’ for the year 2026 for his contribution to the field of theatre.
