Bhagyavathi had traveled to Kuwait in Feb this year seeking employment as a domestic helper. However, it was later found that local recruitment agents neglected her case and did not secure a proper employment visa for her. In a self-recorded video shared with her family and on social media, she tearfully detailed that she was being subjected to severe physical and mental harassment. She further alleged that when she requested to return to India, her employers and handlers demanded a hefty sum of money to release her. In response to the chief minister’s urgent orders to ensure her safe return, APNRTS (Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society) coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait to prioritize her safety and expedite her repatriation process. Additionally, Naidu instructed authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the fraudulent recruitment agents involved in the case and initiate strict action against them. Meanwhile, Tirupati district administration and Chandragiri police have established continuous contact with Bhagyavathi’s anxious family members, reassuring them that the state government will provide all necessary support till she safely reaches home.
