A key attraction of the event was a live sushi-making demonstration conducted by Deputy Consul General Katsunori Ashida and his wife, Mizuho Ashida. Using premium imported ingredients supplied by MainDish.in, the demonstration offered attendees a rare opportunity to witness authentic sushi preparation firsthand. Beyond the food, the gathering served as a platform for cultural exchange, with guests engaging in conversations about Japanese traditions, gastronomy and the shared role of food in fostering understanding between communities. Speaking about the event, Consul general of Japan in Kolkata, Yposhihisa Ishikawa said, "Food is one of the most effective ways to connect people across cultures.
