Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam district police arrested two interstate burglars for their involvement in property offences in parts of the Srikakulam district. The police have recovered Rs 80 lakh worth stealing valuables from the accused.
The arrested people have been identified as Mohammad Mizan (36) and Mohammad Hassan (26), both of whom are natives of Malda district of West Bengal and the duo are involved in property offences in the past in parts of the Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.
Srikakulam district police chief KV Maheswara Reddy said the Kasibugga police in the district solved the series of property offences and recovered 120 gms of gold, 20 kgs of silver ornaments, Rs one lakh cash and one bike from the duo.
The investigation has revealed that the accused people used to conduct the recce in the morning hours to identify the locked houses and strike at the houses during the nighttime. Mizan was involved in 16 property offences in north Andhra Pradesh, and he was convicted in some cases. However, he continued the crime along with Hassan after being released from prison.
