Naidu to lead bicycle campaign in Vizag today

Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will travel by bicycle during his Visakhapatnam tour on June 5 to mark World Environment Day and promote environmental conservation. Through the initiative, the chief minister aims to spread awareness on the need to protect nature, reduce pollution and adopt eco-friendly modes of transport. Naidu called upon citizens, public representatives, political leaders and govt employees to participate in the campaign by using bicycles or e-bicycles on June 5.In a message posted on social media, the chief minister said protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and stressed the need to preserve natural resources for future generations. He noted that the earth is humanity’s home and nature is the foundation of life, making environmental protection an urgent priority. Naidu appealed to people to make conscious efforts to prevent the pollution of air, water and soil while promoting sustainable lifestyles.He emphasised the importance of increasing green cover and using energy resources judiciously to reduce the environmental footprint. “As part of World Environment Day, let us all travel by bicycle and e-bicycle on June 5. Let every individual plant a sapling and contribute to a greener Andhra Pradesh,” he said. The chief minister announced that he would personally travel by bicycle during his Visakhapatnam visit to take the message of environmental protection directly to the people.
He expressed hope that the initiative would encourage citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.Naidu also appealed for public participation in large numbers, saying that collective action is essential to address environmental challenges. He urged people to join the campaign, plant at least one sapling and work together to conserve natural resources and build a sustainable future. TDP state unit president Palla Srinivasa Rao appealed to all the party leaders and activists to take bicycle rallies across their constituencies, towns and villages on Friday.
