Varanasi: BJP public representatives and functionaries staged a sit-in protest and a public meeting at district headquarters on Wednesday against derogatory remarks made by UP

Ajay Rai against PM Modi.
The protest was attended by BJP UP ministers including Ravindra Jaiswal, Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, Hansraj Vishwakarma, MLA Neelkanth Tiwari, Saurabh Srivastava, Awadhesh Singh, ex-MP Rajesh Mishra, and ex-MLA Surendra Singh Aundhe.
The BJP leaders said that Ajay Rai has been making indecent and undignified remarks against PM Modi, and the Congress party has now abandoned the path of positive politics and is resorting only to personal allegations and insulting language. They alleged that they were committed to expose the Congress leaders and their negative politics.
They said that Rahul and Ajay Rai not only lacked the knowledge of politics but they also did not know etiquettes due to arrogance. The protestors said that this was not just BJP’s but the outrage of the entire public of Kashi against the Congress. Party held this meeting to condemn him and make him feel ashamed, they said adding, the people of Kashi will teach them a bitter a lesson.
They also submitted a memorandum to the ADM City Rajesh Kumar.
Other BJP leaders who attended the protest were MLC Dharmendra Singh, Mayor Ashok Tiwari, District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, veterans Veena Pandey, Kashi regional unit president Dilip Singh Patel, district chief Ramsakal Patel and city president Pradeep Agrahari.
