B B Gopakumar is BJP parliamentary party leader in assembly

Thiruvananthapuram: Chathannur MLA B B Gopakumar was named BJP parliamentary party leader in assembly on Wednesday.Party insiders said both party state president and Nemom MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Kazhakkoottam MLA V Muraleedharan were interested in becoming parliamentary party leader. However, both MLAs, who had earlier served as Union ministers, were not ready to accept the other one as parliamentary party leader in the assembly.This forced central leadership to choose Gopakumar as the parliamentary party leader in the house. Gopakumar was also BJP’s speaker candidate earlier.
