Gumla: Two persons, including a minor, were killed on Monday evening when their speeding bike skidded at a turn and fell into a ditch by the roadside. The deceased Purushottam Singh (20) and Ashok Mahto (14) were residents of Latu-Samkona village under Raidih police station limits of the district, the police said on Wednesday.
Sandeep Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Raidih police station, said the incident took place around 7 pm. “They were returning home from neighbouring Sursang village after meeting a friend. They were on a high-powered motorbike which was speeding. The bike skidded near a blind turn at Aranda Narsingh Bagla,” he said.
The OC further said the duo fell into a ditch and sustained injuries which killed them on the spot. Their bodies were handed over to the families on Wednesday after postmortem examination.
