In Tripura’s Dharmanagar assembly constituency, BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty has taken a massive lead of over 18,290 votes in the counting so far, establishing a strong early advantage.

NCP candidate Sunetra Pawar has taken an early lead in Baramati as initial trends begin to emerge. The seat in Pune district fell vacant following the death of former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28, which necessitated the bypoll.
Polling for the bypoll was held with a high voter turnout of 82.21% on April 9. The bypoll was necessitated following the death of sitting MLA Imkong L Imchen.
There are 30 polling stations in the constituency. Counting will be conducted in 10 EVM tables along with one returning officer table, sources said.
A total of six candidates are in the fray for the seat. They are BJP’s Daochier I Imchen, Congress’s Chalukumba Ao, National People’s Party’s I Abenjang and three Independent candidates Major (rtd) Toshikaba, Imtiwapang Kichu and Imchatoba Imchen.
All arrangements are in place for bypoll voting across seven assembly constituencies in five states. Polling teams have reached booths with EVMs and VVPATs, while security personnel have taken positions at sensitive locations under the supervision of the Election Commission of India.
