Patna: A 35-year-old unidentified man died after falling from the second floor of a building on Nala Road under Kadamkuan police station area in Patna on Wednesday morning. No cellphone or identification document was found in his possession, said police adding that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide.
According to police, around 7.30 am, a man was running through a nearby lane when he noticed an open door of a residential building on Nala Road. He entered the three-storey building, went up to the second floor, and allegedly jumped. He fell to the ground and died on the spot. The deceased was not wearing clothes at the time of the incident.
Police reached the spot after being alerted by residents, took the body into custody and secured the area. “A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called for scientific investigation. Police are examining CCTV footage, questioning locals, and sharing details through social media and nearby police stations to establish the identity of the deceased. The exact motive and circumstances will be clear after the FSL report and further investigation,” station house officer Janmejay Rai said.
He told this newspaper that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, but the investigation will establish the full sequence of events. “The deceased has not been identified yet,” Rai added.
