Rly hospital launches TB awareness campaign
Patna: The railway central super speciality hospital at Karbighaiya here launched a tuberculosis (TB) awareness campaign on Tuesday with active participation from doctors, nursing staff, patients and visitors. The campaign which was held at the out-patient department (OPD) of the hospital, aimed at spreading awareness about tuberculosis, its prevention and treatment.Addressing the participants, hospital medical director Dr Subodh Kumar Mishra highlighted various aspects of the disease and emphasised the need for early detection and timely treatment to contain its spread. He said the Centre’s ongoing TB eradication campaign has made a significant impact on the common people by creating greater awareness about the disease and encouraging patients to seek medical assistance at an early stage, he said.During the programme Dr Manisha delivered a detailed presentation on female genital tuberculosis and its adverse effects on women’s health and quality of life. She stressed the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent long-term complications.Dr Sandhaya spoke about the ill effects of tuberculosis on individuals and society and elaborated on the available treatment options, emphasising that TB is a curable disease when proper medical care is followed. The programme was conducted by Dr Sweety, who coordinated the awareness sessions and interactions with participants.
