Patna: Amid prevailing heatwave conditions, Patliputra University (PPU) has directed all examination centres to ensure adequate facilities for students appearing in the ongoing undergraduate semester-II examinations in Patna and Nalanda districts.
PPU examination controller Manoj Kumar said the university issued instructions on Monday after reports of students facing difficulties at some centres due to inadequate arrangements in extreme heat.
The university is conducting examinations at 42 centres with nearly 90,000 students appearing. Centre superintendents-cum-principals have been asked to ensure chilled drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, functioning fans, clean toilets and primary healthcare facilities for examinees.
“The move comes in response to soaring temperatures and concerns over students’ health and safety during examinations,” Kumar said.
The semester-II examinations will continue till May 27.
Kumar said the same guidelines would apply to upcoming examinations, including undergraduate vocational part-I examinations from June 4 at six centres and undergraduate semester-IV examinations from June 18 at 42 centres.
