Bans Ghat crematorium to open for public from today
Funeral services will begin at Bans Ghat crematorium
Patna: Funeral rites could be performed from Thursday at the newly developed Bans Ghat crematorium, constructed by Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL).The facility has 18 cremation platforms, including four electric cremation units, six wood-based cremation units and eight traditional cremation sites.Officials said the crematorium has been developed to provide citizens with clean, organised, dignified and eco-friendly funeral services. Patna Municipal Corporation officials, including mayor Sita Sahu, along with representatives of PSCL and Isha Outreach, the agency responsible for maintenance of the crematorium, held a prayer ceremony at the site on Wednesday.The facility offers prayer halls, waiting rooms, drinking water, restrooms and parking facilities, besides other essential amenities. Families can book funeral services through a designated phone number or email. A help desk will also function on the premises to assist and guide visitors.
