Noida: Three fire incidents were reported in GB Nagar on Wednesday — a blaze that destroyed a furniture warehouse in Badalpur, another fire that gutted two cars near Central Park in Sector 55, and a flat fire at a high-rise in Sector 75. No injuries were reported in any of the three incidents.
In the first incident, a major fire ripped through the warehouse of rental company RentoMojo in Badalpur around 1am. Fire tenders from Ecotech-3, Dadri and Gaur City stations were dispatched to the site. The blaze had spread significantly by the time first responders arrived, prompting authorities to call in additional units from across the district. A total of 16 fire tenders were deployed before the fire was contained, preventing it from spreading to nearby warehouses. The cause is yet to be ascertained.
The second incident also occurred around 1am, near Central Park in C Block of Sector 55, after sparks from an electric pole fell on a parked car during a dust storm. The flames quickly spread to an adjacent vehicle. Residents alerted the police and fire department, and a fire tender brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.
Later in the day, fire broke out in a flat at The Jewel of Noida society in Sector 75. Fire officials said they received information at around 7.40pm. The fire originated in the outdoor unit of an air conditioner installed on the balcony of a 20th-floor flat. Residents and society maintenance staff managed to extinguish it using the building’s in-house firefighting system before the fire department arrived.
